Gmail IMAP and SMTP settings for outlook 2010



Gmail IMAP and SMTP settings on your computer will be simply made with our instructions. It will carry out your incoming and outgoing email with a secure protocol
  • From the computer, log in to your Gmail account using the browser.
  • Click on the gear icon on the right end and select Settings from the options.
  • On the settings page, click on the ‘Forwarding and POP/IMAP’ tab to perform the Gmail IMAP and SMTP settings.
  • In the IMAP Access menu, enable the IMAP.
  • Then, save the changes and close the window.
  • Next, launch the Outlook 2010 app on the computer.
  • Go to the File menu, click Account Settings and then select Account Settings.
  • Under the E-mail tab, click on New.
  • Now, click Manually configure server settings menu and continue.
  • Pick the Internet E-mail option.
Gmail IMAP Settings
Enter the User Information and Logon Information. Then, type the Server Information as given below;
  • Account Type: IMAP
  • Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com
  • Outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com
Next, select More Settings and, under the General tab, tick the SMTP authentication.
Click on the Advanced tab, and input the port numbers and encryption type as mentioned below;
  • IMAP port number: 993
  • IMAP encryption: SSL
  • SMTP port number: 465
  • SMTP encryption: SSL
or
  • SMTP port number: 587
  • SMTP encryption: TLS
Save the changes and click Test Account Settings.
Check the option below the Test Account Settings button and click Finish to complete the Gmail IMAP and SMTP settings.
